The Family Center's bilingual preschool, Children's Circle, is now enrolling children (ages 3, 4, and 5 years old) for the Fall. The preschool is open on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday mornings from 9am to 12pm. Slots are available for each of these days.

Our preschool program offers children the opportunity to stretch their cognitive skills, build academic skills for success in school (such as word and number recognition), and develop critical social skills to get along with others.

Welcome

The Family Center of Northern Durham is a unique space for all families in Durham County to come together, learn together, and play together. We offer a warm, friendly environment with a variety of programs for young children, their families and caregivers. These programs include a bilingual preschool, a family literacy program that includes an ESL class for Latinos mothers, a play space, and a resource library.

Children love our developmentally appropriate play space, where they can play with dress-up clothes, blocks, puzzles, a toy kitchen, art, and much more. An adjoining, safe baby play area has places to crawl in, over and under. To keep little ones busy during pleasant weather, our fenced-in yard includes a sandbox and water table, outside toys, as well as a new small garden. Families also benefit from having our caring, experienced, and bilingual teachers available to them.

The Family Center is located in a spacious and beautifully renovated bungalow on Murray Avenue, close to Roxboro Road. We are down the road from the Museum of Life and Science, and within walking distance for families in the nearby communities of Braggtown and Northgate Park . Parking is also available for those families visiting us from other parts of Durham County.
